2 ) Large metal container with a tap in which tea and coffee is made or from which it is served

1 ) Get money by working

(
2 ) Get money as a return on a loan investment
Money earns more in a high interests account.
(
3 ) Gain something deserved in return for one’s achievements, behavior, etc…

His bad manners earned his sharp rebuke.
You have certainly earned your retirement.
