What is the difference between Plait and Plate? :
Plait : (verb)
(
1 ) Weave or twist (three or more lengths of hair, straw, etc…) under and over one another to make one rope-like length
She was painting her hair.
Plaint : (noun)
(
1 ) Form made by painting
She is always proud of her beautiful plaint.
Plate : (noun)
(
1 ) Dish made of earth ware china from which food is served or eaten
Where is the dinner plate?
(
2 ) Contents of a plate
Give me a plate of vegetable soup.
(
3 ) Thin flat sheet of metal, glass, etc…
Those are steel plates.
Plate : (verb)
(
1 ) Cover another metal with a thin layer especially of gold or silver
This is a copper tray plated with silver.
These are gold-plated dishes.
