Parch : (verb)

1 ) Make something very dry and hot
It is very difficult to pass through a parched desert.

2 ) Make something very thirsty
Give me a glass of cold water. I am parched.
Perch : (noun)

1 ) Place where a bird rests
(
2 ) High seat or position
I watched the game from my perch on the top of the wall.

1 ) (Of a bird) come to rest or stay
The birds perched on the television aerial.
(
2 ) (Of a person) sit on something high or narrow
He perched dangerously on a high ledge.
(
3 ) Place something in a high or dangerous position
There is a hut perched at the edge of a cliff.
He perched a beret on the side of his head.
