What is the difference between Contend and Content? :
Contend : (verb)

Content : (adjective)

1 ) Happy
Not wanting more
Satisfied with what one has

Content : (noun)

1 ) That which is contained in something
The drawer had been emptied of its contents.
At the front of the book is a table of contents giving details of what is in the book.

2 ) That which is written or spoken about in a book, an article, a speech, etc…
The content of your essay is excellent. But it is not very well expressed.

Take food with a high fat content.
