Cease : (verb)

Come or bring something to an end

Seize : (verb)
(
1 ) Take hold of something suddenly and violently
Grab
She seized me by the wrist.
(
2 ) Take stolen goods, illegal drugs, etc…away from someone
10 kilos of heroin were seized yesterday at the airport.

3 ) Capture something
Take
The enemy troops seized the airport in a surprise attack.

4 ) See an opportunity, etc… and make use of it eagerly and at once

1 ) Surrounding of a town, etc… by armed forces in order to capture it or force it to surrender
