1st Dec. 2003.
To:
Mrs. Marabou Asahi,
Head of the Department of Social Sciences,
Trichur University,
Trichur,
Kerala-India.
Respected Mrs. Marabou Asahi,
As you must be aware from the reports in the press and electronic media, Mrs. Hemavati Rani Singhania has been awarded the prestigious “Padma Shree” by the Government of Kerala. For the last two decades of her life, she has striven persistently to educate women about their rights and duties, given them a sense of dignity in front of their men folk through her women’s court. Every penny she received as contribution from feminist organizations throughout the world has been recycled into her noble social work. Her recent award is a fitting recognition of her great work.
“Bhatia Nari Samaj” is organizing a function in Trichur Town Hall on 6th February 2004 to felicitate Mrs. Singhania. At least, 100 eminent people, from all over India, are expected to attend.
You are cordially invited to grace the occasion and preside over the function. His Excellency, The Governor of Kerala, has consented to be present as Chief Guest. Your own achievements as a social scientist befit you to preside.
Kindly intimate us of your acceptance of this offer. Kindly inform us whether you are ready to preside or merely to attend the function.
Thanking You.
Yours sincerely,
Signature of Muralidharan
