Direct Speech into Indirect Speech :
There are two ways in which we can report what some one has said.
1. Direct speech
2. Indirect speech
Direct Speech : In direct speech we reproduce the actual words of the speaker. The words of the speaker are put within inverted commas. (“……..”)
Example :
Barath Kumar said, “My father is going to Mumbai tomorrow”.
Indirect Speech : In direct speech we do not reproduce the actual words of the speaker. We report the speech after making some changes.
Example :
Barath Kumar said that his father was going to Mumbai the next day.
