Creating Static Charge
Take a balloon and inflate it. Take some newspaper and tear them into small pieces. Spread them on the table. Wear a woollen glove and rub your hand on the surface of the inflated balloon. Next hold the balloon near to the bits of paper.
You will find that the bits of paper lift upwards and stick to the balloon. The woollen gloves have charged it and therefore the papers stick to the surface of the balloon.
Again rub the balloon with the woollen gloves. This time wash the rubbed surface with flowing water. You will find that the stream of water bends towards the balloon. This is also because of the static charge created on the surface of the balloon by rubbing its surface with woollen gloves.
