3 ) A place where stone, slate, etc…is extracted from the ground

QUARRY : (verb)

1 ) Search with great effort for information
He was quarrying in old documents for historical evidence.
QUERY :

1 ) Ask someone a question or questions
The minister was queried about his plans for the industry.
(
2 ) Express doubt about something
I query whether she can be trusted.
