Business : noun : affairs discussed

• The main business of the meeting was finished by 3 p.m.


• Any other business = item at the end of an agenda where any matter can be raised

NOTE : The plural is Businesses.


Business Agent : noun US : chief local official of a trade union


Businessman or Businesswoman : noun : man or woman engaged in business

• She’s a good businesswoman = she is good at commercial deals.


• A small businessman = man who owns a small business

Bust : adjective (informal) : to go bust : to become bankrupt
