• The minister was dismissed for taking bribes.


Bribe : verb : to pay someone money to get him to do something for you

• We had to bribe the minister's secretary before she would let us see her boss.

Bridging Loan : noun : short-term loan to help someone buy a new house when he has not yet sold his old one
